Notes
1 Try to give as much detail as possible, e.g. if you run a B&B or hotel, please say whether there are Fair Trade refreshments in the bedrooms.
2 For help finding a supplier, look at the Wales Co-operative Centre’s “List of Fair Trade suppliers” or visit www.walescoop.com. If you need any further help please contact us.
3 *A representative from your local Fair Trade Steering Group will receive a copy of your policy and may invite you to the groups meeting. If you are unavailable to attend over the course of a year the group may arrange to visit you to verify your policy.
4 Ways to celebrate Fair Trade Fortnight could include:
• Adding a note to your company Email signature to raise awareness
• A stall selling products in the foyer
• A Fair trade dish on the menu (why not combine with local produce?)
• An employee arranges a quiz or gives a talk at a local school or group
This will help you keep enthusiasm for Fair Trade alive once you have developed your policy.
5 Please send a copy of your policy to:
Elizabeth Hudson, Fair Trade Marketing Officer, The Wales Co-operative Centre, Fairwater Road, Cardiff CF5 2XP or email to elizabeth.hudson@walescoop.com
Next steps
A copy will be forwarded to your local Fair Trade steering group*. You will receive a certificate through the post.
