This Swansea restaurant is a favourite with locals for its consistent quality food, friendly atmosphere and bring your own wine policy. A 3 course set menu is offered at £20.

Fair Trade on the menu
To celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight 2009 the Swansea Fair Trade Forum asked Truffle to try out some put some dishes with Fairtrade ingredients on the menu. Head Chef Brian Evans is used to catering for special diets and interested in environmental concerns, so took the idea to the max using as many Fairtrade ingredients as possible.

Getting started
The Wales Co-operative Centre helped Brian look at what products were available and how they could be integrated into the menu. During the fortnight Truffle offered many dishes with Fairtrade ingredients from tagine to crème brulé, and of course truffles.

Table toppers were designed to help people realise the ingredients were Fairtrade and to raise awareness that Wales is the worlds first Fair Trade Nation.

Outcome
The restaurant got a good reception for its Fairtrade menu and is considering including Fairtrade in a few standard items.
