January 2010

Voice 10 comes to Wales

Voice10 is the UK´s landmark conference for social enterprise which is organised by the Social Enterprise Coalition. Now in its sixth year, the 2010 event will be hosted in Wales for the first time, thanks to the support of principal sponsors, the Welsh Assembly Government. With the UK still in recession, the Social Enterprise Coalition believes it is the time to challenge the "usual" approach to business. At Voice10, the movement will come together to respond to some key questions and provide answers to challenges we are facing in the current economic climate. The Wales Co-operative Centre will participate in the conference exhibition. It will host ‘business support surgeries’ during conference breaks which will enable social enterprises and co-operatives to discuss issues one-to-one with its advisors. The Centre is also providing a ‘lunch buddy’ service for social entrepreneurs who want to make new contacts and network with other practitioners during the lunch break on day two of the event. In addition, the Centre is sponsoring a special Social Enterprise supplement being published by the Western Mail to coincide with the conference. Project Manager for the Wales Co-operative Centre’s Social Enterprise Support Project, Nia Wright Morgan, said, “We are really excited that Voice is coming to Cardiff. It’s a great opportunity to hear about the latest developments in the sector, discuss ideas, catch up with existing clients and make new contacts.” To register for the event, visit http://www.tcp-events.co.uk/voice10/delegateregistration.html.  ...
