Of mutual benefit

A Community Housing Mutual seminar, organised by the Wales Co-operative Centre and TPAS Cymru, was held on Thursday 21 February.

The Community Housing Mutual Group is supported by the Centre. The Group aims to improve the understanding of housing mutuals and ensure they are run effectively.

Local authorities and housing associations are in the process of deciding how they will meet Welsh Housing Quality Standards by 2012. The event highlighted the benefits of a housing mutual model.

Delegates included representatives from local authorities, tenant groups and regeneration agencies. A second event was held on Wednesday 23 April.
